Our Story More Than Coffee. A Legacy Across Generations. Ziara means “journey,” and ours began more than 70 years ago in Kenya.Around 1952, during an era shaped by colonial restrictions, our grand father planted the coffee trees that would become part of our family’s foundation. Those trees represented more than a crop they represented courage, opportunity and hope for the generations that would follow.Through years of patient cultivation and hard work, coffee helped our grandfather educate his eleven children. The journey would eventually take one of them our father all the way to Russia for his studies.What began in Kenyan soil was already reaching far beyond the farm. Carrying the Legacy Forward After our grandfather, our mother and the wider family continued caring for the farm and preserving its legacy. In 2011, the next generation stepped forward to help manage it and carry the story forward.Working with coffee taught us that every harvest is a journey of patience, discipline and faith. Long before coffee reaches a cup, it passes through the hands of farmers who nurture the trees, carefully harvest the cherries and depend upon the land for their families’ livelihoods.This understanding remains at the heart of Ziara Coffee. From Kenya to Florida Ziara Coffee was created to share the richness of African coffee while honoring the people, heritage and landscapes behind it.Today, we bring carefully selected Kenyan coffee from its African origins to Florida, where it is roasted in small batches to preserve its freshness, aroma and distinctive character.
